Now Hear This 2020 Songwriter Sessions
What: 5 weeks of intensive songwriting workshop, assignments, recordings and performances. Workshop topics and lectures by industry experts, peer critiques and feedback sessions.
When: First assignment mailed by January 1st, first group meeting on Wednesday, January 8th.
Live feedback sessions happen online in Group Chat format on Wednesday evenings from 7 - 9 pm. Songwriting assignments completed and delivered to the group DropBox by Tuesday evenings at 10 pm.
Once you receive your weekly assignment, you have one week to write and record a song based on that prompt. You will need some kind of recording device to record an audio sample of your song for the group to listen to. You must include a word document of some kind with the lyrics and any additional information you can include (ie: chords, key signature, notes).
You must commit to all 5 weeks (optional to miss one week but still do the assignment).
You must have your songs in by Tuesday at 10 Pm.
You must commit to listening to the other participants tracks before the group meets.
Each week we will listen live and then offer constructive criticism according to the group guidelines. Facilitators and song coaches may offer suggestions for edits and other constructive ideas.
You may choose whether or not to have one of your songs included in Workshop Compilation.
You will have complete ownership and copywrite of your own materials.
Participants may not use any part of any song submitted by a member of the group without expressed permission by the songwriter themselves.
