Greetings friend! If you're running or hoping to start an online business, then I'm sure you're familiar with the high-value low cost strategy of email marketing.

I know that building an email list can feel like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be.

With the right strategies and consistent effort, it's actually possible to grow a list fairly quickly. This didn't happen overnight for me - it actually took me years of trial and error to figure out the sweet spot for MY business. But once it clicked there was no going back for me.

Its almost like those weird fractal posters that have a picture hidden in them. You know how if you stare at it for long enough the image starts to shift and you can suddenly see the full picture? That's what email marketing has been like for me.

I was wandering around in a fog for a few years and then one day it clicked - and since then, I've been able to use this formula over and over to grow my list and help others do it too!

So - I'm going to show you how you can add 250 subscribers to your list in just 30 days. This is a step-by-step guide to make it happen, even if you’re starting from scratch.

But first - the WHY!

Before we dive into the steps, let’s talk about why building an email list is so important:

  1. Direct Communication Channel: Unlike social media, email lands directly in your audience’s inbox. There are no pesky algorithms deciding who sees your message. Yes people get overwhelmed but if they gave you permission, it's much more likely they'll see your email than that they'll notice your scroll-by-able post on a social channel. 
  2. You Own It: Social platforms can change or disappear, but your email list is yours. (this!)
  3. High ROI: Email marketing consistently delivers a higher return on investment than most other marketing channels. Last year the stat was $42 to $1, meaning that if you sink $100 into your online email marketing system, you can estimate $4200 in returns, assuming you're selling a product. 
  4. Trust and Relationship Building: Email allows you to connect with your audience on a personal level, fostering loyalty and trust. This is likely the top reason to use email. It's just more personal.

Here's my 5 steps broken down with some bullets.

  • Understand who you want on your list.
  • Identify their biggest challenges and goals.
  • The more specific you are, the easier it is to attract the right people.

  • Offer something of value in exchange for an email address.
  • Examples include:

  • The key is to solve a problem your audience cares deeply about.

Step 3: Optimize Your Landing Page

  • Your landing page should be clear and compelling:
    • Headline: Highlight the biggest benefit of your lead magnet.
    • Copy: Focus on the value your audience will get.
    • CTA: Use a strong, action-oriented call-to-action.
  • Keep it clean and distraction-free.
